Site theme
What do you guys think of the theme now? I'm still gonna have a custom head banner made, but there lots of pre made skins which look pretty nice. I'm debating on whether it should be a darker theme like this, or a lighter one like before. Thoughts?
Re: Site theme
I know that some people may have trouble reading light text on a dark background, So the other way around would be more universal and retina display. :cyclops:
How about a banner contest. I'm definitely up for making one. Contest or not.

Anyone is welcome to post their banners in the site feedback section
It would be best to wait till I decide on a theme though, so it matches.
I can change the text so it's black against a white or grey background though, that may help.

Personally, I like these Halloween colours. It's damn classy. I run a forum with a dark background, and some of the older members complain about it hurting their eyes.

Re: Site theme
As nice as the site looks now, it's a bit dull for my taste. More themes would be nice.
Is there a skin/theme selector option for Forumotion?

Check out HitSkin.com.
Although, changing themes means possibly having a new logo designed, changing the google ad colors, and going through to make sure all the text is visible, which would amount to the site being down for about a day.
It's not a big deal to me, I chose this theme because it's clean and simple, but there are others out there. Feel free to suggest your favorites. HitSkin has a feature where anyone can test what the theme would look like on this actual site, which is very cool.

Re: Site theme
I meant a theme selector button on the site itself. I just think it would be better if we were to have more options rather than replacing the current one.
Re: Site theme
Cant you also permantely change the scheme of the page accidentally if you click apply to site now rather than preview.

Re: Site theme
Only the admin, me, can permanently change it.
And as far as a different theme for each user, I'm not sure that's possible here. I know some sites have a preference selector for a dark or light themes, but I haven't seen anything like that on forumotion. I'll look into it though.

Re: Site theme
There's quite a bit of customization. I can use CSS, and change individual colors with a menu, on top of applying themes and styles. The tradeoff for them hosting everything for free is not having access to the database and files, so, no mods as far as I know. There are some very nice looking forumotion sites though, you just gotta know what your doing. And I'm still learning
